Following the deaths of their husbands in Moab, Ruth, a Moabite widow, shows steadfast loyalty to her Israelite mother-in-law, Naomi, by moving with her to Bethlehem. There, Ruth meets and marries a wealthy relative, Boaz, securing their future and becoming the great-grandmother of King David.
