From our Minister

Dear Friends,

Andy and I would like to say how truly thankful we are to you all for your love, support, kindness, and most of all, prayers during this time I’ve been in hospital. We have so appreciated it and know that your prayers have sustained us during this time. We are very grateful to each and every one of you and thank you so much for your love and care. While I was in hospital, I did feel very close to the Lord and knew that he was right with me and I was even moved to a side room, which gave me precious time to be alone with him. At times I was even able to share with one or two of the nursing staff that people were praying for me, and one of them said, ‘Well, it did the trick’…

As we’re nearing the end of this Easter season and about to enter into the time of Pentecost it’s exciting to think that actually we are Easter people – yesterday, today, tomorrow – we are and always will be Easter people. The love of the Father and the love of Jesus are seen so clearly in the cross, with the power of the resurrection following 3 days later. The coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost wasn’t a one-off event it happens every day, as we give over more of our lives for a fresh infilling of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit is Jesus’ coronation gift to us and we can wake every morning to hear what the Holy Spirit wants to say to us today. He is wanting to talk to us and it is for us to get into his flow every morning. That’s not to say he doesn’t speak to us during the night hours either.

We have Holy Spirit to inspire and equip us, to renew and restore us. An athlete that I once met said how she could run many times round the track and get back
and feel exhausted but once she’d had some water she would feel reinvigorated and ready to run again. Let us constantly open ourselves to the refreshing water of the Spirit. When we feel we’ve had enough and can’t go on, may we know the Spirit strengthening us, and that the Lord is the lifter of our heads.

May you know the Living Water flowing through you and refreshing you, this day and always,

With love,
Jane
